Welcome to the Tucson Chapter of Amigos de las Américas (AMIGOS).  We are excited to be celebrating the 44th year of youth empowerment!

Each year, our exciting and challenging program provides unique experiences to student volunteers from the Tucson area.  Beginning each October, we select and train a number of top high school and college students to travel to Latin America during the following summer. 

This program creates opportunities for these young people to excel in leadership roles promoting public health, education and community development.  These dynamic volunteers reach across cultural barriers, advance various programs, and foster multi-cultural understanding throughout the Americas. 

Applications for the 2008 summer program are now closed!  If you are a qualified teenager who might be interested in being considered for the summer 2009 program, we strongly suggest you plan to attend one of our September informational meetings in the fall of 2008.  We encourage both parents AND the potential participant to attend our final informational meeting.  Click here to Learn More about the application process!
