How can I help?
Please consider supporting our Tucson AMIGOS. We are funded by
contributions from community members, corporations, and foundations.
The cost to send each volunteer on their summer assignment is
broken into two parts:
1. Volunteer Participation: Each volunteer and
their family are required to pay a fee which is used to defray the
expenses for their domestic and international airfare, local training,
supplies, and emergency services.
| The next time you're shopping at Bashas, please ask them to
add Amigos (organization #23750)
to your Bashas thank you card. Up to 1% of your purchases
through March 1, 2008 will be donated to Amigos - and it won't
cost you a dime! |
 |
2. Community Support funds: The Tucson chapter
depends on you to help us by making a donation to the program.
Donations are used to cover the costs of supplies and support staff
while the volunteer is in country. For example:
| $25 |
Provides nails and roofing material for
one storage shed in Honduras |
| $30 |
Provides supplies for a Lorena stove to
replace (dangerous) open kitchen fires |
| $50 |
Provides 150 toothbrushes to aid dental
hygiene in Brazil |
| $100 |
Provides the cement and other supplies
necessary to construct 4 latrines |
| $150 |
Provides 100 fruit trees for family
nutrition and reforestation |
| $500 |
Provides training materials for 20
volunteers |
The major fund raising efforts include:
- A letter-writing campaign to friends and
relatives
- Public
speaking to interested groups in the Tucson area
- An annual Amigo's Fiesta event that includes a silent-auction, grants from
local foundations, and more.
AMIGOS is a 501(c)3
organization, as defined by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service Code.
Please consider making a
donation in support of the 2007-2008 Tucson AMIGOS!
