Staff  (and the Leadership ladder)

AMIGOS is committed to having youth-led community service programs in which veteran volunteers can develop ever-increasing leadership, program management, and mentoring skills. AMIGOS believes strongly that when given the proper training young people can manage great responsibility effectively. The young men and women who advance through the levels of AMIGOS Project Staff develop excellent management and interpersonal skills that enhance their college, graduate school and employment opportunities.

Title Role/ Supervises When eligible
Tucson Chapter Trainer 3 to 5 new Volunteers Upon return from first summer as an Amigos Volunteer.
Tucson Chapter Senior Training Staff Assist TD and ATD The senior training staff is typically selected from Tucson Chapter Veterans who have both completed summer projects in Latin America as Amigos Volunteers and assisted as chapter trainers for one or more years.
Tucson Chapter Assistant  Training Director (ATD) Assists TD Assistant Training Directors help with all facets of training new volunteers in the Tucson Chapter. 
Tucson Chapter Training Director (TD) Training for complete chapter The Training Director is ultimately responsible for the quality and delivery of the new Volunteer, Veteran, and Staff training programs in the Tucson Chapter.
Project Supervisor (PSup) 6 to 10 Volunteers After completing a successful community assignment, veteran volunteers can apply to be Project Supervisors, the initial level of management. Supervisors coordinate with partnering agencies to prepare host communities for the volunteers' arrival and to plan the structure for implementing community service activities. Supervisors visit volunteers in their communities, assist in problem solving, and respond to volunteers' emotional, health and safety needs.
Senior Project Supervisor  (Sr PSup) 18 - 25 Volunteers and PSups After completing a successful summer as a Project Supervisor, veteran volunteers can then rise to the next level of responsibility.  In this role, they help provide leadership to the project, other PSups, and individual volunteers as well.
Associate Project Directors (APD) Assists PD Individuals who excel as Project Supervisors can apply for the next level of management. Associate Project Directors work alongside the Project Directors in managing and directing the project, from program design and evaluation to training the project staff. Associate Project Directors also manage project budgets.
Project Directors (PD) 50-60 Volunteers and staff Project Directors are the highest level of project management. Directors travel to the assigned country several months before projects begin in order to finalize plans with partnering agencies. During the project, Directors oversee volunteer training and overall management of the project
